Michelle Román, Director and President
Michelle has been working and leading in educational settings for the past 18 years. While earning her Master’s Degree in Music Education, Michelle taught group piano classes at the college level. Michelle directed middle school chorus in a Detroit charter school, and she taught elementary music for three years at Trinity School in Atlanta. Michelle also has experience on the administrative side of education. While in Detroit, she worked as Director of Public Relations at a local music academy. Michelle has served in many varied roles at her local church, including leading Children’s Worship, teaching adult Bible classes, and volunteering on the Children’s Curriculum Committee. Despite the busy demands of homeschooling three boys, Michelle has found time to maintain a full private piano studio and teach homeschool classes in their local co-op, including English Grammar, Writing, and Music. In 2016, Michelle took the reins as Director of their homeschool group. Michelle enjoys casting a vision and creating a plan to put those goals into action. She is thrilled to take RUS Academy to the next level of excellence.
